Carolyn H. Davis' Obituary
Carolyn Harder Davis, 87, passed away on May 10, 2026, at Ciel Senior Living (Brookdale Dogwood Creek) with her daughter by her side.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 20, 1938, Carolyn lived a life marked by dedication, service, and deep love for her family and circle of friends. A proud 1956 graduate of Messick High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Memphis, where she was an active and devoted member of Delta Zeta sorority.
Carolyn began her career teaching mathematics at Georgian Hills Junior High School, where she met the love of her life, Wooldridge “Bubba” Davis. They married on July 26, 1963, and built a joyful life together. After welcoming their daughter four years later, Carolyn devoted her time to raising Cindy while also substitute teaching, selling real estate, and tutoring advanced math students. She enjoyed playing tennis, attending Bible Study, playing Bridge, and walking with her close friends.
Carolyn was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church beginning in 1967, a community she cherished for nearly six decades.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wooldridge “Bubba” Davis; her mother, Cyndia Harder; and her father, Frank Harder.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Frazier (Butch); granddaughter, Katie Maier (Simon); grandson, Hank Conditt (Liz); and great granddaughter, Penelope Maier.
The family will receive friends on May 14, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 4680 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis. A celebration of life will follow in the sanctuary. A private family burial will be held at Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m.
