Carolyn Sue Coleman's Obituary
Carolyn “Sue” Coleman, 74, passed away December 31, 2013 at her home. Sue began her life as an only child in St. Louis, MO on December 1, 1939. She lived in Poplar Bluff, MO until the age of sixteen, then she and her parents moved to Kaufman, TX. After graduating high school, she attended business college. Before beginning her career as a secretary, she was a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines out of Dallas, TX. For many years in Memphis, Sue was an executive secretary for Fogelman Properties, Alco Properties and finished her career at FedEx in the Flights Ops division. One of Sue’s most endearing qualities was her willingness to help people. That was truly her spiritual gift. She attended Christ United Methodist Church. She loved her church and especially her Sunday school class, Grace Awakening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and William Campbell. She leaves two daughters to celebrate her life, Denise McKee (Mark) of Germantown, TN and Kelly Bankhead (Scott) of Asheboro, NC. She also leaves five grandchildren that were the light of her life, Brennan and Kendall McKee of Germantown, TN and Alec, Sarah and Karson Bankhead of Asheboro, NC. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4 in the Wilson Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church, 4488 Poplar Ave. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send memorial to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Christ United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”
