Carol Jean Vancil's Obituary
Carol Jean Vancil has gone to live with her Father in Heaven in the mansion he has prepared for her. She passed from cancer on October 13, 2016. She was born on December 3, 1955 in St. Louis, MO. Carol was a resident of DuQuoin, IL for most of her life. She was a student in the DuQuoin public school system and at A. L. Bowen Center in Harrisburg, IL. She competed and won awards in the Special Olympics Games. Carol worked at Five Star Industries in DuQuoin, IL for over thirty-five years. In the summer of 2007, she moved to Cordova, TN to live with her sister, Kathy Vancil. She enjoyed the fellowship at Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova, TN and became a member there. Carol lived in ACA Communities and in the West Tennessee Family Solutions community for the last few years of her life. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph T. Vancil of DuQuoin, IL. Carol is survived by her mother, Jean K. Vancil of Cordova, TN; sister, Kathy Vancil (Ed Rollberg) of Cordova, TN; and brother, Steve Vancil (Marjorie) of Broken Arrow, OK. She is survived by her nieces, Angela Novak (Sean) of Tulsa, OK and Sara Brown (Michael) of Cordova, TN and nephew, Aaron Vancil of Broken Arrow, OK. Carol was a great-aunt and is survived by two great-nephews, Patrick and Asher Novak of Tulsa, OK and two great-nieces, Gretchen Novak of Tulsa, OK and Addison Brown of Cordova, TN. Services will be at Hope Presbyterian Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd, Cordova, TN 38018. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 1:30 to 2:30. The service will be at 2:30.
