Carol Lynne Turner's Obituary
Carol Lynne Turner, age 65, resident of Memphis, TN, and wife of Judge William Christopher Turner, departed this life after a yearlong battle with cancer on Monday, June 26, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 31, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Overton High School, and received an Associates of Arts degree in Nursing from Memphis State University in 1975. She was married May 22, 1976 to William Christopher Turner. She was a registered nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis for 40 years. Carol was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church where she sang in the adult choir and taught in the children’s choir ministry. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, cooking, spending time with friends and family and most of all being with her grandson. Carol was well known for her infectious smile, compassion towards others and strong Christian faith. Carol is survived by her husband of 41 years, William Christopher Turner of Memphis, TN; sons, Dr. Drew Bedford Turner of Memphis, TN and William Christopher Turner, Jr. (Ashley) of Collierville, TN; grandson, Thomas Turner; mother, Ruth Hambleton Lollar of Memphis, TN; and brothers, Harry Clay Lollar (Kristen) of Rossville, TN, and Russell Forrest Lollar of Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Beach Lollar, Jr.; grandfather, Harry Beach Lollar, Sr.; grandmother, Rhea Lollar; grandfather, Nathan Bedford Hambleton; and grandmother, Mallie Hambleton. A service to celebrate the life of Carol will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in Memphis with Dr. Joe Jernigan, of Bellevue Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 30, 2017 and one hour prior to service on Saturday at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Thank you to the many family and friends who have prayed for Carol throughout her illness. A special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Ashley Turner and longtime friend Carolyn Evans.
