Carol Dianne "Pinkie" Higgins' Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Dianne "Pinkie" Higgins, 74, of Collierville, TN, who passed away on November 1, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
Born on December 3, 1949, in Memphis, TN, Carol was a proud graduate of Kingsbury High School. Throughout her life, she lived in Tennessee, Washington State, Florida and Georgia before returning to her roots in the Memphis area for over the last 30 years. Carol retired from FedEx, where she made many lasting friendships before retiring to focus on her family and passions.
Known to her loved ones as Pinkie, Carol had a remarkable gift for arts and crafts. Whether she was sewing, canning, or creating something special in her kitchen, her creative spirit was always on display. One of her proudest joys was nurturing her fruit trees, carefully harvesting the produce, and transforming it into homemade jams and jellies—a tradition that embodied her love of "farm-to-table" living and sharing her creations with those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bettye Tucker. Carol is survived by her two sons, Damon Pike and Blake (Lindsay) Higgins, and her five cherished grandchildren: Chloe, Allie, Tucker, Hadison, and Hensley. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Maverick and Lawson; her sister and best friend, Daphne (Alan) Large, and an aunt to their children, Trevor and Heather, whom she loved so much.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with formal details to be announced.
Carol will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her vibrant personality, dedication to her family, and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind.
