Carol Ann Wood Clark's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved Carol Ann Wood Clark, who passed away on December 11, 2024. Carol was a supportive, kind soul who touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, love, and selfless spirit.
Born on February 26, 1953, in Memphis, TN, Carol was the cherished daughter of Thomas Edward Wood and Polly Carpenter Wood, who preceded her in passing. Deeply devoted to her family, Carol found her greatest joy in being surrounded by loved ones. She was a woman of unwavering faith, boundless love, and immense goodness, always putting others before herself. She instilled in her family the importance of faith, teaching them to pray and to know Jesus.
A longtime member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Carol nurtured her relationship with God daily. She found peace and joy in reading her Bible outdoors, basking in the sunlight surrounded by her flowers, and filling her home with the uplifting sounds of gospel music or the voice of Elvis Presley.
Carol is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, David Grant Clark, and her daughter, Polly Renee Hesse. Her loving spirit lives on through her children, Timothy Keith Clark (Brigette) and Kristy Oberia Kenney (John), who will forever treasure the guidance, warmth, and unconditional love she bestowed upon them.
Carol also leaves behind her sister, Mickey W. Twilla, and her brother, Tommy Jack Wood, who will cherish her memory always.
Carol’s legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Cody Clark, Gavin Clark, Kaitlyn Steva (Andrew), Dalton Brown, Alyssa Whitt, Chandler Self, Joshua Kenney (Trang), Morgan Kenney, Emily Barkley, and Jack Kenney, as well as her two great-grandchildren. Each of them held a special place in her heart, just as she will forever hold a place in theirs.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Carol’s beautiful life. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on December 19, 2024, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
Carol’s gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love will forever remain in our hearts. As we mourn her passing, may we find comfort in the cherished memories she leaves behind and the assurance of her eternal peace in heaven.
