I came from Venezuela to attend the Memphis college of Art, known as the Memphis Academy of Arts at the time.
Dr. Franklin Pearson and his wife Carmen were instrumental as my sponsors and I stayed at their home for 3 months. They shared with me, together with their children, their daily life. Always warm and with a sense of humor. I will always be grateful to both of them for their support and friendship. May both of them rest in peace with Jesus.
My childhood was a better one because of Carmen. I thank God that I knew her and I thank Him for her kindness. I will never forget her. The thought of Carmen will always be a blessing, her beautiful family always in my heart. I pray the Lord comfort her children and all who knew and loved her. May the love of God be with her and her children forever.
