Carlos Raymond Carman's Obituary
Carolos Raymond “Ray” Carman, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home on August 8, 2018. Ray was born January 28, 1928 in Memphis to Lelan and Beulah Carman. Ray attended Messick High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1946. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. Ray worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years, where he created several inventions for postal machines still used today. He continued to be an inventor throughout his life. He was also an avid gardener, well-known for his beautiful azaleas. Ray leaves behind his wife of 68 years, E. Louise Carman. He also leaves his beloved daughter, Donna Carman of Memphis; as well as three sons, Mark Carman (Jane) of Pocahontas, AR, John Carman (Susan) of Bella Vista, AR, and Steve Carman (Caroline) of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. and funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 11 at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
