Carla Sue Dagastino's Obituary
Carla Sue Dagastino, 75 years of age, residing in Hernando, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. Carla was born on May 13, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee. When she was born, she resided with her parents, Carl and Ann Dagastino in Joiner, Arkansas.
Carla was a loving daughter, sister, mother, niece, aunt and cousin. She cherished her family a great deal and always let them know it. Her love of family made her research of genealogy a natural progression. She was a ‘family encyclopedia’ remembering and sharing stories from past and current generations. She was particularly proud of her Italian heritage.
When she became a single mother, she devoted her life to her son, Jay. She worked very hard to provide for him. As a profession, she worked 40+ years as an accountant at Binswager Glass Company in Memphis. One project she was particularly proud of was the Vietnam Veterans Memorial which is on display in Washington, D. C. The central feature is a nearly 500-foot-long granite wall inscribed with the names of over 58,000 service members who lost their lives in Vietnam.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Carla’s life on Saturday, May 24, 2025 on the grounds at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119-0885.
