Captain Kenneth Berry Eidson's Obituary
On Friday, January 13, 2023 Captain Kenneth Berry Eidson, 76, transitioned to his heavenly home after an extensive battle with complications from exposure to Agent Orange during his four years of service in the U.S. Navy.
He loved serving and protecting. After his term with the military, he served thirty-three years with the Memphis Police Department. In several of those years, he served as an MPD helicopter pilot. Once he retired, his service continued by working as a security officer for A.S.K Security in Memphis and security for his church, Church of the Harvest in Olive Branch, MS.
He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, read his Bible, and prayed. Ken loved his wife Loretta, his four children, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grands. He enjoyed working in his flowerbeds, keeping a manicured lawn, fishing, and vacationing in the mountains. He was dependable, a hard worker, a man of integrity, and a man of his word.
He loved watching the military channel, listening to southern gospel music, and eating cheeseburgers and tacos, especially his daughter's homemade tacos. She referred to him as Do-Da and he called her Do-Da-Day. Their bond was special.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Berthel and Thelma Eidson of LaCenter, KY, his brother, Frankie Eidson of LaCenter, KY, and his newborn son, Shawn Eidson of Memphis, TN and his grandson, Ragan Martin of Olive Branch, MS.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta J Eidson of Olive Branch, MS, son, Jesse J Eidson of Chattanooga, TN, three step-children, Carey L Berryman (Marcie) of Olive Branch, MS, Tracy L Martin aka Do-Da-Day (Jason) of Olive Branch, MS, Clint A Berryman of Farmington, MO, a brother Michael Eidson of Nashville, TN, thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
