Camille B. Calhoun's Obituary
Camille Bicknell Calhoun, 93, a resident of Rossville, Tennessee area. Camille was born in Memphis and lived there most of her life. She was a member of Piperton Baptist Church during the last few years. She taught elementary grades, mostly the 4th, for many years in Memphis City Schools. She loved her family, friends and most of all her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was born Sept. 1, 1916 and went home to be with her Lord on August 31, 2010 just a little less than 11 hours before her 94th birthday. Camille was the widow of John C. Calhoun to whom she was married for 57 years, before his death in 1999. She is survived by her son, Dr. Charles Lewis Calhoun of Columbus, GA and wife, Ginger, and daughter, Nancy Calhoun Dowdey of Rossville, TN and husband, Sam. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Carroll Calhoun Hudson and husband, Frost; Virginia Camille Calhoun; and Charity Elizabeth Calhoun, all of Columbus, GA. She also leaves a brother, Curtis Davis Bicknell of Arlington, TN, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Her services will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Her nephew, Don Adams, and Thomas Foy, pastor of Piperton Baptist Church, will officiate. Visitation will be on Friday, September 3rd from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the service following at 2:30 p.m. The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Piperton Baptist Church Building Fund or American Missionary Fellowship for Don Adams, an East Tennessee missionary.
