Byron Lane Sitz's Obituary
Byron Lane Sitz, 85, of Germantown, TN passed away September 23, 2015 at Saint FrancisICU. Mr. Sitz is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary McRae Sitz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mattie Sitz, two brothers, Willard and Otway Sitz, three sisters, Beoria Garner, Aline Nelson, & Jeanice Brock. Byron worked for Hayes Aircraft as a NASA aerospace engineer between 1960 and 1974 at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. He was Plant manager at Bradner Central and Columbian Art Works in Memphis between 1974 and 1994. Mr. Sitz served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister, Betty Lou O’Neal (Richard) of Vestavia Hills, AL, step-children Lyn Patrick Myers and Steve Clark of Memphis. Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Doyal Long officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
