Brooks Michael DeGutis' Obituary
Brooks Michael DeGutis, 21, passed away on March 10, 2013. Brooks grew up in both Memphis, TN and Natick, MA, graduated from Houston High School and was currently enrolled at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, where he was a member of the fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was an ardent fan of both music and sports. Throughout middle school his skateboarding created a set of unbreakable friendships; later football and lacrosse came into focus. He was known for his contagious energy that brought life to any conversation. Brooks leaves behind his parents, Vince and Renee DeGutis, his brother Harris, grandparents Terry and Betty Atkins, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by grandparents Vincent Anthony DeGutis, Berga Carol Smith, Harold G. Smith, and Mimi and Gramps. The family will receive friends from 12 until service time at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Hope Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd., Cordova, TN 38018. Memorials can be made to the Page Robbins Alzheimer’s Center, 1961 South Houston Levee Road, Collierville, TN 38017. Flowers can be sent to Hope Church in Cordova or Memorial Park Cemetery.
