Bridgette Correale's Obituary
Bridgette Ann Amalfitano Correale was born on April 30, 1940 to Giorgio and Adeline. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, with her three brothers, Joey, Jimmy, and Anthony. It was there that she met and married Vincent Correale, with whom she enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Bridgette moved to Dallas, PA in 1966 where she lovingly raised her family, attended College Misericordia, and wrote the ‘Oak Hill’ column for The Dallas Post. The Correales moved to Memphis, TN in 1982 where Bridgette first worked for KIX 106. Together with Vincent, she opened The Brooklyn Bridge Italian Restaurant in 1985. Bridgette became the face of The Bridge, noted for greeting her customers with warm hugs and a ready smile. She is the author of three cookbooks, The Bridge From Brooklyn, Did You Eat, and Eat and Laugh With The Correales. Bridgette passed away on May 19, 2012, and is survived by husband Vincent, son Louis and daughter-in-law Angela of Germantown, TN; daughter Adele and son-in-law Jose San Miguel of Morrisville, NC; son Giorgio and Amber Gregory of Cordova, TN; brother Jim Amalfitano of Lake Ashton, FL; her most precious grandchildren, Vincent, Jose, Anthony, Sofia, Dominic, and Antonio; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Visitation and rosary at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown, TN, Monday May 21, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday May 22, 2012, also at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
