Dr. Brian Phillip Sorrentino's Obituary
Dr. Brian Phillip Sorrentino, 60, physician/ scientist at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital died November 16, 2018. A native of New York, Dr. Sorrentino was Director of the Experimental Hematology Division at St. Jude and held the Wall Street Committee Endowed Chair in Bone Marrow Transplant Research. He was a graduate of Union College in Schenectady and SUNY Upstate Medical Center College in Syracuse. Dr. Sorrentino leaves his wife, Suzanne Ruleman Barnett Sorrentino; his son Joseph Sorrentino; daughter Emily Sutherlin, son-in-law Dylan Sutherlin, and granddaughter Ruby Sutherlin; brother, Brent Sorrentino, sister-in-law Debbie Sorrentino, and nephew Logan Sorrentino.Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 8151 Chimney Rock Blvd. Cordova, TN 38016 from 12:45-1:15 p.m. with the Funeral Mass to follow immediately at 1:15 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral mass in Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
