Bret Nicklaus Barton's Obituary
Bret Nicklaus Barton, devoted husband, loving father, coach, and friend, passed away on June 9, 2026, at the age of 55.
Born on March 31, 1971, Bret lived a life centered on family, faith, hard work, and service to others. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1993 with a degree in Business and built a successful career as a Rental Sales Representative with Power Equipment Co .
He was respected by coworkers and customers alike for his professionalism, dedication, and friendly nature.
On September 22, 2007, Bret was united in marriage to Sarah Aslin. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with two daughters, Brooke and Kinley, who were the pride and joy of his life. Bret was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family and supporting his daughters in all their endeavors.
Bret was actively involved in his church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and
participating in youth and children's ministries over the years. He also dedicated much of his time to coaching in church leagues and community sports programs, where he enjoyed encouraging and mentoring young athletes.
An avid outdoorsman, Bret loved hunting, golfing, and spending time on the water. He was a proud member of Spring Creek Ranch Country Club and enjoyed many rounds of golf with friends. During the summer, he especially looked forward to weekends on the lake with family and friends, making memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Bret was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Barton, who passed away in 1972, and his dad, Milton Loper, who passed away in 2021.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Barton; his daughters, Brooke Barton and Kinley Barton, all of Collierville, Tennessee; his mother, Linda Loper of Collierville, Tennessee; along with many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and church family whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Bret will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his family, his willingness to help others, and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Bret will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Collierville First Baptist Church. Public visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
