Brenda Kate Robinson's Obituary
Brenda Kate Robinson was born October 17th, 1950, in Milan TN. She transitioned to heaven peacefully January 2nd, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton and Cathryn Dowdy as well as a brother, Ralph.
She is survived by her devoted husband of over 56 years, Roger D. Robinson and her daughters Kimberly (Brad) and Carrie (Ashley), along with six grandchildren: Harrison (Leah), Anna Grace, Laura Kate, Jack, Ben, and Jon.
Brenda was raised on a farm where she helped with picking cotton and produce. She gave her heart to Jesus as a young person and played piano at Chapel Hill Baptist Church where her family attended. She and Roger were high school sweethearts and married on June 7th, 1969. Brenda was a life-long learner and hard worker. After graduating from Milan High School, getting married, and attending college, she was hired to do paralegal work with a law firm in Milan, for which she continued to work remotely despite several moves with Roger’s company.
She retired in 2014. Brenda was a member of Collierville United Methodist. Always faithful to her local church, Brenda served in children’s ministry and in a reading program she developed called Rainbow Readers, which helped community children strengthen their reading skills. An avid reader herself, Brenda read each John Gresham novel, and she read Billy Graham’s Decision Magazine, often giving her two sons-in-law subscriptions to help them in their ministries. She and Roger traveled with Roger’s company many places and also enjoyed attending the Gaither’s Praise Gathering with Roger’s Sister, Jean, and her husband, Rick.
Most notably, Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always full of encouragement and care, making each child/grandchild know they were loved and cherished. Though her last decade was an intense struggle with cancer and Alzheimer’s, she persevered in her faith, blessed her caregivers, and continued to smile for her family. She wants for nothing at this time, as she is in the presence of Jesus. Nothing was able to separate her from the love of Christ (see Rom. 8:39). “But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).
