Bonnie Sandidge's Obituary
Bonnie Norton Sandidge, born in December of 1918, deceased March 23rd, 2011. She is predeceased by her husband of seventy years, Marvin Hastings Sandidge (2006). Bonnie lived a full life as loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who considered it a joy to spend time with and serve her family. She and Marvin enjoyed many blessings from Almighty God as they raised a family and built a business. They credited any successes to the providence of God and the blessing of living in a free country. During her lifetime she was an active member of Shelby County Baptist churches, most recently Colonial Baptist church. Her faith in Christ , love for others, and soft-spoken humor will not be forgotten by those she leaves behind; a daughter, Freddie Sandidge McEwan and son in law, Dr. Robert C. McEwan; two grandsons, Robert C. McEwan III and his wife Emily; Daniel Hastings McEwan and his wife Elizabeth; and she leaves six great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Louise Rains (Mrs. James) and Claudia Wilkes (Mrs. Benjamin). Memorial service will be held at Colonial Baptist Church, 1503 Colonial Rd., Memphis 38117 on Monday, March 28th at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will follow the service. Because of her strong belief in and support for Christian education, the family requests any gifts be sent to: the “Bonnie and Marvin Sandidge Scholarship” at Union University, 1050 Union University Drive; Jackson, TN 38305 or Colonial Baptist Church at the above address.
