Bonnie M. Luckey's Obituary
Bonnie M. Luckey was peacefully called Home by Our Lord Jesus Christ on August 5th 2022 at 97 years of age at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR. Born Bonnie Faye McMinn on November 26th, 1924, in Wynne, AR, she is preceded in death by her parents George and Bertha McMinn, her husband James H. Luckey Sr., nine brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by her three sons: George D. Simmons and his wife Margarete of Heiberger, AL, Rickey P. Simmons and his wife Judy of Bentonville, AR, and Murray H. Luckey of Memphis, TN, and her devoted friend and sister Margaret Riley of Cherry Valley, AR. Bonnie’s legacy also lives on in her eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
A faithful servant, Bonnie attended Grimes Memorial Methodist Church of East Memphis wherein she devoted her time to the children’s ministry. Her work ethic was tireless as evidenced by her retirement from the Sam’s Club in Memphis at 86 years young.
Bonnie enjoyed traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, walks, and enjoying God’s creation. Our late matriarch poured her nearly century long life experiences into those around her with an uncanny wit and endless kindness in the finest tradition of her generation.
A private graveside ceremony will be held on August 12, 2022, at the Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice at 1202 NE Legacy Parkway Bentonville, AR 72712
