Bonner J. Warrington's Obituary
Bonner Joseph “Punch” Warrington, 88, passed away October 6, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Sunday, October 9 and funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 10 followed by burial, all at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Mr. Warrington proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1946, on Front Street, he began his career in the cotton business, working until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Warrington was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and a member of the Chapel Class. He was a member of the Traffic Club and World Trade Club of Memphis. Throughout his life, he never wanted anybody to worry after him, always telling those who asked, he was “fine.” He enjoyed a good game of golf and adored his grandchild and great- grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine Cecile Warrington; son, Bruce Joseph Warrington, of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Pamela Brickey (Bob), of Orange Beach, AL; one grandson, Matthew Robert Brickey and three great-grandchildren, Maggie Cate, Luke, and Beau, all of Baton Rouge, LA. The family requests memorials be sent to the Chapel Class at Second Presbyterian Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
