Bobbie (Bob) Cecil Patterson's Obituary
Bobbie Cecil Patterson (Bob) was born in New Albany, Mississippi June 16th, 1933. He died with family by his side at the age of 89 on August 3rd, 2022, in Memphis TN.
Work brought Bob's family to Memphis Tn in the early 1940's. He attended and graduated from South Side High School in 1952. As a member of ROTC, he earned officer rank. South Side is where he fell in love with Mary Ann Manley. After graduation he joined the Air Force. Bob and Mary married while Bob was on leave on May 20th, 1953. On deployment in Korea, his rank climbed to Crew Chief for the Boeing KC-97 Stratofreighter, which was an aerial refueling tanker aircraft.
After service he went on to attend college at Memphis State University from 1957-1961. Bob earned a degree in interior design, all while working and starting a family. His jobs over the years included: Otis Material Handling, Exide and Remmington Arms, and lastly Union Planters Bank. He went on to retire from Regions Bank (formerly known as Union Planters Bank) in 1995. During his retirement he and Mary traveled often, and he found time to enjoy the love of wood working at which he was quite accomplished.
Bob was the only child of Hugh Cecil Patterson and Clara Bernice Randall.
Mary and Bob were married for 65 years before her passing in 2018.
Bob is survived by three sons, Robert Scott, Hugh Mark and Randall Manley Patterson and one daughter Dixie Lee Collins.
Bob is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren
Funeral Services will be on Sunday August 21st at 2:00 pm with a visitation prior at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, TN.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St Jude or Tunnel to Towers.
