Tracy Willis purchased the Emerald Garden Basket for the family of Bob “Coach” Willis.
To Bob’s Family: I taught and coached with Bob at Richland Jr. High School for 3 years before joining General Motors Buick Division and leaving Memphis. The two of us were among the first to open the new school, Richland Jr. High School .Richland Jr. was a modern design with lots of glass and a nice place to teach. Bob was a great person to be around and was loved by all, fellow teachers, staff and myself, a fellow coach. Bob was instrumental in acquiring a coaching supplement for me to supplement my weak teaching salary. I became his helper and swim coach. We called each other “coach” almost saying it like the word couch or cooch..lots of laughs and camaraderie. Bob worked on weekends selling homes. After I left the area I was so happy and proud to hear of his great success in the building and real estate business. I have enclosed some photos of his teaching days. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Coach Bob Willis–A Great Person!! Jim Pirtle, Greensboro, Ga.
Homebuilder’s and Real Estate investors greatly appreciate Bob’s contributions to Memphis and Tennessee. A good respected friend to to all. Best Regards. Milton Grant
I will never forget the kindness and generosity received from Coach while living across the street in the 70’s. He always treated me as one of his own. My prayers go out for Bobby and the whole family. Kindest regards. Dave Bell
