Blanche Marie Cannon's Obituary
Blanche Marie Cannon, 101, of Atascadero, CA. and Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Country Care Convalescent Home in Atascadero. Blanche was born in September, 1911 in Truman, AR, to Marshall and Ora Shores. She attended Truman High School then moved to Memphis, where she married Joseph LoPicolo, and raised a son, Michael LoPicolo. She lived for many years in Memphis where she waitressed at the Bon Ton Cafe then managed the Franklin Hotel on Union Ave. After she retired with her second husband, Ernie Cannon, she enjoyed writing, painting, sewing, fishing, camping and visiting with friends. She moved to Atascadero at the age of 99 to live closer to her son Michael LoPicolo and his family. Even at the age of 100, she enjoyed taking trips to her son’s home and going out to eat. Blanche is survived by her son, Michael LoPicolo (Karen) of Atascadero; two grandchildren Lindsay LoPicolo of Monterey, Calif.; and Bryan LoPicolo of Berkeley, CA; and brother, Lewis Shores (Celia) of Kerrville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Ora Shores; husbands Joseph LoPicolo and Ernie Cannon; brothers William, Henry, Homer, Vernon and Preston; and sisters Virginia, Katherine and Sadie Mae. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN.
