Billy Gerald Willard's Obituary
Billy “Gagy” Gerald Willard, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Grandaddy is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria Ann Willard, and five children and their spouses: Billy Jr. and Gay Willard, Melanie and Keith Willer, Scott and Carla Willard, Landon and Kaci Willard, and Richie and Christy Willard. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren: Chris, Jake, Casey, and Nathan Willer; Cody (wife Julie) and Alli Willard; Eli, Emma, Ellie, and Ethan Willard; Riley and Luke Willard; and Andi Gayle Willard. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Willard and two brothers, Ronnie and Eddie Willard. He is preceeded in death by his father, Vernon Willard. Mr. Willard served in the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserves for a total of eight years, from 1955 to 1962. Retired after serving 37 years with the Federal Aviation Administration – Southern Region, as a Supervisory Electronics Technician. Upon retirement he also taught Electronics at Remington College. Grandaddy was a true man of God. He was a strong prescence in his family in his quiet gentle demeanor. He was a great example of extending grace to all he met. His legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren, and those that had the pleasure of knowing him. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 1st at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5:00 – 8:00pm, with Services being held Friday, May 2nd at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 1:00pm, followed immediately by graveside service with Military Honors.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119, 901-767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”
