Billy M. George's Obituary
Billy M. George, 77, passed Tuesday, October 20, after complications from heart surgery. He was the son of the late James and Letha George and was born in October 26, 1931 in Munford, TN.He is survived by his wife, Louise, daughter Laura Weston, son-in-law Billy of Gulf Breeze, FL., daughter Olivia Bell, son-in-law Bryan and grandsons Zachary, Will, Bryce of Brentwood, TN.Mr. George was a Tennessean his entire life except for the four years he spent in the Air Force overseas during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from what was then Memphis State and began his business career with “Plough Inc” in 1960 where he was promoted in 1962 to Sales Manager of International Distributors, Plough’ subsidiary. In this capacity he was in charge of training and supervising International entire sales force which included all salesmen and states west of the Mississippi River. He later established his own business, Mid-Dixie Wholesale & Memphis Rack Service. At the time of his death he was employed by Utiliquest. He was of the Methodist Faith.The family will receive friends from 11-12 on Friday, October 23, 2009, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with services to follow. Burial will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 1:30.Memorials may be made to ABLE Youth, 4316 Prescott Rd. Nashville, TN 37204 or the charity of donor’s choice.
