Billy Jack Agee's Obituary
Billy Jack Agee, age 68, of Memphis TN, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 29, 2024 following a period of declining health. He was born October 7, 1955 to James and Bettye Agee. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Polly Hagedorn Agee of the home, his son Taylor Agee, (Jennifer) and grandson Jack of Lakeland, TN and a brother, James Agee (Michele) of Chicago.
Bill grew up in Memphis and graduated from Memphis University. Following college, he worked for Delta Airlines in Memphis and Cincinnati for 28 years until he returned home to help care for his parents and an uncle. Anyone who knew Bill knew him as a kind and generous individual willing to offer advice with a touch of humor to match. Even in poor health, he had time to listen and encourage others. He loved being 'Poppy' to his beloved grandson and 'Uncle Bill' to a special neighbor, Yessli, who liked visiting after school to share her artwork and grades with him.
Services will be held Thursday, April 11th at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119 with visitation at 10:00 in the Fireside Chapel and a short service following at 11:00.
