Beverly Jean Ray Poletti's Obituary
Memphis--Beverly Jean Ray Poletti (86) passed away March 4, 2022 exactly 61 years to the day after her wedding to her devoted husband, Tom Poletti, who survives her. Born in Memphis March 27, 1935, she proudly graduated from South Side High School as salutatorian, Class of ‘53. Beverly was employed only twice in her life: First, 25 years with Gordan’s Transports, and then 25 years with the IRS. Beverly sparked joy in all who knew her. Those big brown eyes and her bright smile made the initial impact, but her humor, intelligence, and grace left indelible impressions. A life-long Methodist, Beverly’s strong faith kept this sweet lady ever serene, courageous, and wise. In addition to her husband, left to cherish her memory are daughter Pamela Ray Poletti (Sam Weakley), her beloved grand-daughter Mimi Herren, niece Sharon Daniels Frazier (Brian), and nephew David Daniels. Beverly was predeceased by her parents Wilber Dorris “Pop” Ray and Florence Lewis “Mimi” Ray, and her beloved sister Rebecca Ray Daniels. Interment will be private at Memphis Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
