Beverly Cox Little's Obituary
Beverly Cox Little, passed away May 7 at her home in Germantown, Tennessee at the age of 85. She graduated from Tech High School where she was Miss Tech her senior year. She often modeled for Gerber’s department store as a teen. She worked for the Memphis Board of Education and Plough, Inc. before marrying Walter F. Little, Jr, who preceded her in death two years ago after sixty-two years of marriage.
She was a beloved wife and devoted mother. She was a longtime member of Bellevue Baptist Church and then Second Presbyterian Church, where she gave selflessly of her time teaching Sunday School to 3rd graders. She was a member of the Jeb Russell Sunday School class and was an active volunteer with King’s Daughters and Sons Home.
She is reunited in Heaven with her parents; Thomas and Catherine Cox, her husband; Walter, her son; Jeffrey, and grandson; Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter; Vicki (Chandler) and son; Walter F. Little, III, grandchildren; Doug, AnMei, Jonathan, Joshua, Matthew, and four great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers LaQuita Smith-Houston, Lataria “Candy” Dunbar, Latonya Jordan, Niconna Minor, Angelica Taper, Mae Mackey, Amber Dandridge, Tarren Franklin, Cassandra Miller, Dorothy Banks, and Darlene Tate.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. Visitation will start at 12:00 p.m.
