Beverly McCormick Johnson's Obituary
Beverly McCormick Johnson, 72, died December 8, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, December 12th from 4-6 pm. Funeral Services will also be at Memorial Park on Sunday, December 13th at 3 pm. Beverly was married to John T “Brick” Johnson, for 50 years until he passed away in October 2009. She is survived by her four children; Shannon Johnson Turpin and her husband Larry, Jennifer Johnson Lackey and her husband Steve, John Edward “Jed” Johnson and his wife Sheryl, and Thomas Gregory “Greg” Johnson and his wife Collin. She leaves five grandchildren; Connor Lackey, Mattison Johnson, Cole Johnson, Larkin Johnson, and Greta Johnson. She also leaves a brother Edward W. McCormick of Bellevue, Texas. Beverly was born in Amarillo and grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1955. She attended Texas Tech University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. After raising her four children, Beverly was an administrative assistant for a real estate company in Memphis. After moving to Jefferson City, Missouri she worked for the Jefferson City Public School District, Special Education Department from where she retired. While in Missouri Beverly and Brick were active members of Grace Episcopal Church. Since returning to Memphis, they had been attending St. Elisabeth’s Episcopal Church.
