Beverly "Beve" Johns, III's Obituary
BEVERLY HARRISON ‘BEVE’ JOHNS III passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at age 68. Born in Memphis on February 16, 1947, Beve attended Columbia Military Academy and graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He was a graduate of Memphis State University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and an avid fan of U of M basketball. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a Freemason, a member of the Scottish Rite, and of Al Chymia Shrine Temple. Beve is survived by his wife of 36 years, Constance Winn Johns, and his daughter, Lee Beverly Johns, both of Memphis. Preceding him in death are his father, B. Harrison Johns, Jr., his mother, Iris Bloesch Magoffin, and his stepfather, Frank Magoffin. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 30, at 1 p.m. Visitation will precede the service starting at 12 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Crossroads Hospice, or the charity on one’s choice.
