Bettye Weathers' Obituary
Bettye Dixon Weathers, 88, of Memphis, died Tuesday, December 11 at St. Francis Hospital. Born on September 1, 1924 in Mammoth Spring, AR, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James B. Weathers (Beamon) of Columbus, MS. Bettye was a long time member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she and her husband taught youth Sunday school. She leaves two cousins, Michael Erwin, of Germantown, TN and Madelyn Porter, of Lufkin, TX. Bettye had many friends that will miss her sharp wit and devotion. Committal services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, December 13 at Memorial Park Cemetery’s Mausoleum Rotunda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
