Vaughn, Betty K.'s Obituary
Betty K. Vaughn, 89, of Memphis, TN, passed away on April 7, 2025.
Betty was born, January 26, 1936, in Louisville, MS, to Jeston C. Kates and Minnie Bell Bradford.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Mark) Melton, grandchildren, Lunden and Adam Melton, nephew, Michael Tebo, brother-in-law, Norman Vaughn, longtime Companion, Bob Wilson, and family friends, Frank, Mark and Andy Gubera.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeston C. Kates and Minnie Bell Bradford Kates, sister, Jeanne Tebo and husband, Bill Vaughn.
Betty was a sweet, beautiful and kind lady. She is known by her friends as the sweetest lady, who loved kids and animals. She absolutely loved desserts, she could skip dinner and eat dessert, loved going out with family and friends and taking trips. She also enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the church choir, but the most important thing to her was her family and friends. She was very loyal to her family, friends, and loved ones.
Betty had a full-time job from 1954 to 2009, at Wilson Steel. She also worked part time jobs to put her daughter through Catholic schools and college. At one point she had three jobs.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 15 at 11:00 am with a funeral mass at 12:00 pm at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery,
