Betty Simpson's Obituary
Betty Davis Simpson went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2009.She lived her entire life believing that life itself is a gift and we can find joy in everyday. She dearly loved her husband, sweetheart, Ollie, who preceded her in death. She deeply loved her entire family her entire family, each and every one of them precious to her. She loved her church home of 48 years, Mullins Methodist Church, and her Sunday School Class, Choir, and friends. Betty was primarily a homemaker, but always actively served the community. She served in Memphis Cotton Wives, Methodist Women, MIFA Meals on Wheels, tutored at neighborhood school, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir. She bowled, painted, made ceramics, knitted, sewed and made more bead jewelry than anyone can imagine. Above all her service, hobbies, and activities, the lady called Betty, Mom, Granny, and sweetheart leaves a huge legacy of love and strength to her family and friends. Betty’s life, her love and her positive attitude towards life is leaving an impression on many lives.Betty is survived by her five children: Dr. Dale Simpson of South Pines, NC, Lamora Hiss of Collierville, Dr. Gary Simpson of Germantown, Ann Triplett of Piperton, and Bes Crowe of Kingsport, ten grandchildren and her precious daughter and sons-in-laws.The Family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm, on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with services to follow at 3:00 pm.Memorials can be made to Mullins United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
