Betty Ann (Wilkinson) Perkins' Obituary
Betty Ann (Wilkinson) Perkins, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 23rd, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on October 10th, 1932, in Memphis, Tennessee, to John Sutherland Wilkinson, Jr. and Ann Harris Wilkinson, Betty grew up surrounded by love and strong values. She attended Central High School, graduating with the class of 1950, and was a devoted member of First Evangelical Church, where her faith played a central role throughout her life.
Betty was a dedicated homemaker, lovingly raising her five children. She is survived by her children: Nicholson B. Perkins, Jr. (Carolyn), Daniel D. Perkins (Heather) and Beth Bauman. She is also survived by her sister, Lynda Zachry. She was preceded in death by her beloved children, Dianne Perkins Fowler (DeeDee) and Bradley Holden Perkins and her husband, Nicholson B. Perkins, Sr.
Betty was a proud grandmother to Jake (Abigail), Ally (Logan), Nicholson III (Rachel), Kate (Nick), and Nathan. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Easton. Betty cherished her family and found great joy in watching them grow.
A talented tennis player, Betty found joy on the court, staying active and vibrant throughout her life. Her warmth, humor, and generosity were felt by everyone who knew her.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on September 30th, 2024, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 12 PM and the funeral at 1 PM with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to First Evangelical Church.
