Betty L. McHaney's Obituary
BETTY McHANEY, 83, loving mother and an amazing woman, passed away on November 5, 2010 after a long struggle with anemia and heart related problems. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where she was known as one of the beloved “Golden Girls” to the congregation. She was born April 17, 1927, in Black Oak, AR. She was married for 59 years to Kenneth, who passed away in 2005. Betty worked for the State of Missouri in her early career and later, in Memphis, she was the office manager of a Dental Practice until her retirement. She was an amazing cook, an expert bargain hunter and throughout her life, her generosity and loving nature and grace earned her a reputation of being what is known as a true southern aristocrat. She had nothing but kind words for everyone she met and lived her life for her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Dennis McHaney of Austin, TX, Kenny McHaney of Memphis; grandchildren, Eric McHaney, Kelcie McHaney and Joseph Hartwell, all of Memphis, Amanda Bridger and her children, Seth, Collyn, Cayleb, Grayson, Sullivan, and a multitude of friends and admirers too great to count. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 8, from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, at Memorial Park. Memorial Park Funeral Home, “Behind the stone wall”, 901-767-8930. Condolences may be offered at www.MemorialParkOnline.com
