Betty Joyce Davis McCord's Obituary
On Wednesday July 13, 2022, Betty Davis McCord, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 82.
Betty was born on May 30, 1940 in Parkin, AR. She graduated from Turrell High School where she was a member of the varsity basketball team , the DAR, and named Miss Turrell High School.
Betty was also known as Coach McCord .
She devoted many years to coaching both softball and basketball teams at Mullins United Methodist Church. She also was the Mothers Day Out Director at Mullins for nearly 25 years .
After she retired, she became “Miss Betty” a devoted employee of Dillards Oak Court . She was a sales associate in both the Children's department and the Home Store.
Betty loved sewing, crafting, animals, and her family. She loved the U of M Tigers and Memphis Grizzlies.
Betty approached life with great optimism, a never give up attitude, and a steadfast faith in God.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a great grandson.
She leaves behind 3 children, 2 grandchildren, a great grand daughter , and many blended family members that loved her.
A graveside service will be held Thursday July 21 at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 11:00a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00a.m. In lieu of flowers
