Betty Lusk's Obituary
Betty Martin Lusk, 87, a native Memphian passed away December 31, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 2. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 3 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. She was the co-owner of Lusk Acoustical and Supply Company, Inc. After the unexpected death of her husband, John N. Lusk, she was a prime manager in the construction of the Red Birds Stadium and The Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library. Mrs. Lusk was a founding member of Hickory Knoll Church of Christ in New Orleans, LA and a longtime member of Union Avenue Church of Christ in Memphis. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and traveling. Mrs. Lusk is survived by her daughters, Sharon Lusk, JD, CPA and Michelle Lusk Hidalgo, CPA; grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Hidalgo, John Robert Hidalgo, Frank Martin Hidalgo and Laura Lynn Hidalgo; nieces and nephews, Dr. Harris Williams, Sandra Walker, George Lusk, Randolph Lusk, Jr., Judy Lusk Espy and Warner Swett, Jr. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, including The Yia Yias and her Canasta Club.
