Betty H. Goldschmid's Obituary
Betty H. Goldschmid, 82, passed away October 24, 2020. Betty was a devoted and faithful wife for 61 years to her recently departed Jimmy. She was an incredible mother and actual best friend to Libby. She never met a stranger and she genuinely loved unconditionally, definitely leaving a positive footprint on everyone’s heart. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, she always held a special place in her heart for Thompson Station where her kinfolk originated. Graduated from Memphis State University with a Master’s Degree in Education. Alumni of Alpha Delta Pi Social Sorority. Taught elementary school in Memphis City Schools. Charter member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. Betty will always be remembered by her upbeat spirit, huge personality, radiate smile, and warm hugs.
Monday, November 2 at 11:00 am will be a private family service that will be streamed live on-line and followed by a public graveside service at 11:45 am which all friends and family are welcome to attend with covid precautions of mask and social distancing. Feel free to bring your own lawn chair.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Betty Goldschmid’s name to one of the following: Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Kirby Pines Retirement Community, Methodist Alliance Hospice Residence, or St. Jude.
