Betty Stokes "Gange" Kimbrough's Obituary
Betty S. “Gange” Kimbrough, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017. She was born in Albany, GA on November 4, 1926 to William and Cleo Stokes and grew up in Eufaula, AL. She graduated from Eufaula High School and then later attended the University of Alabama and Huntington University. She married her husband, Newman, on May 3, 1946 and moved to Washington D.C. They eventually moved to Memphis, TN, to raise their family. Betty enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, playing golf, volunteering and participating in politics. She was active in Shelby County Republican Party, Republican Steering Committee, Republican Women of Purpose, East Shelby Republican Club and many other organizations. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Newman W. Kimbrough, son, Newman W. Kimbrough III and daughter, Kathy Anadell. Betty is survived by her children, Gini Carver (Doug), Nancy Lucchesi (Tony) and Jeff Kimbrough (Sharon). Betty also leaves 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many friends and family. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm, Monday evening, March 13, at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
