Betty Fowler's Obituary
Betty Fowler, 81, passed away on the evening of August 28th, 2012 in Waxahachie, Texas after a short illness, with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, September 8, graveside at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 2:30. Mrs. Fowler was born March 7, 1931 at home in Memphis to Estelle and W.M. Ellis, one of three children, sister Francis (d.1995) and brother Tom. She graduated from Central High School and married the late Elerson “Chuck” Fowler (d. 2005), in 1952 after his return from the Korean War. They lived in the Oakhaven area for 30 years where they raised their two sons David and Danny before moving to Hernando, MS, where they lived for 13 years. They relocated to Texas in 1999 to be closer to Dan and Terri. She leaves the legacy of family – sons David Fowler and partner Christine of Madison MS, Dan and Terri Fowler of Midlothian, TX and brother Tom Ellis and wife Laveda of San Jose California. Her grandchildren Brad and his wife Stephanie of Madison, MS, Shelbi Brewer and her husband Josh of Longview, TX, and Alexis Boutwell and her husband Timothy of Madison, MS. Also, her great grandchildren Bryce, Hayden, Peyton and Hadley. Her family describes her as a kind and gentle person, always the perfect southern lady, quiet and soft spoken. She was treasured by everyone she met. “Behind the Stone Wall”.
