Betty Brakefield's Obituary
Betty Louise Hammer Brakefield, 74, passed away January 14, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee. Mrs. Brakefield is survived by her loving husband, Norman Leon Brakefield, sons, Richard (Kim) and Roger (Kerri); brother, Robert Hammer; grandchildren, Lindsay Murray (Billy), Lauren Brakefield (Alex Laird), and Brandon Ketchum; and her sweet little shadow Lizzy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lessie Mae Williams and brother, Benny Hammer. Mrs. Brakefield loved shopping, spending time in her garden, creating and working with ceramics, and was formerly a member of the Order of Eastern Star. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until her service begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Memorials may be made in memory of Betty Brakefield to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
