Betty Beal's Obituary
Betty Jean Moore Beal, 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with her daughter by her side. She was born in Tiptonville, TN where her Dad, “Soup” Moore, was a farmer and a hunting and fishing guide on Reelfoot Lake and her Mother was a fabulous cook and waitress at Shorty’s Camp. She and her brother Willard developed a love for hunting, fishing and playing basketball in high school. After graduating from Tiptonville High School, she moved to Memphis where she met, fell in love and married her next door neighbor, Dudley Beal. She graduated from Draughn’s Business College then got her first job at Western Union as a typist while Dudley was serving in the Air Force. Betty loved raising her two children with her husband and was very involved in their school and sports activities. Wherever they lived, she developed friendships with her neighbors and their children and loved entertaining. Betty or BB, as she was known by family and friends, appreciated the importance of laughter and making life fun for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, golfing buddies, Bible study friends and others. BB always greeted people with a warm smile and a big hug! She was blessed with many talents and creativity. She enjoyed sewing, golfing, creating porcelain flowers and birds and paper elevations artwork. Her most important expression of love was sharing her faith in our Lord with family, friends and strangers alike. BB was a devoted wife, faithful Christian, enthusiastic mother, grandmother and a lovable caring friend. She was so grateful to David and Denise for inviting her to share their home. During those last years, BB felt such peace and joy being outside and taking in the sights and sounds of nature that God created. She enjoyed rocking on the back porch by the lake, doing her daily Bible study and prayers then tending to her flowers. Our precious BB will surely be missed by many!
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dudley Beal, son Dennis Wray Beal, her parents Theron “Soup” Moore and Ruth Azell Moore, her brother Willard Wray Moore, and her brother-in-law Skeeter Beal. Betty is survived by her daughter Denise Beal Kiss (husband David), grandson Devon Beal Kiss, granddaughter Kristen Beal Williams (husband Kenneth), Special granddaughter Parker Clausel, brother-in-law Bubba Beal, Karen, Sharon, Todd and Ben Beal, daughter-in-law Vicki Beal Collins, sister-in-law Jamie Bobbitt Moore, Kathy, Becky and Andrew Moore.
