Bettie Connally Welsh's Obituary
Bettie Connally Welsh, retired teacher, passed away in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
Born November 21, 1927, she was the only child of Pearl Rice and James Garth Connally.
She was a 12-year graduate of Miss Hutchison's School for Girls; graduated from Southwestern at Memphis with honors in Latin as well as received a Master of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling from Memphis State University.
She was the widow of Paul N. Welsh, Jr. and was also preceded in death by two sons, Garth Connally Jones and Wharton Stewart Jones, Jr.
Bettie is survived by one child, Charlton C. Jones and her stepchildren, Leslie W. Rehkopf (Robert), Susan E. Schuerman, James K. Welsh (Deanna), and P. Candler Welsh (Trisha) all of Memphis. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Welsh will be held on October 21, 2022, at Grace-St. Luke's Episcopal Church beginning at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to one's favorite charity.
