Her younger sister, Sally Barkley, preceded her in death this month and is survived by her youngest sister, Lee DeLay, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her immediate family that are left behind include: 2 children - Bert Seaton Jr. (Michelle), Susan Scholes (Patrick), 10 grandchildren - Benjamin Seaton (Chandler), Josh Seaton (Kayla), Katie Beth Murray (Matthew), Jessie Baurnfind (Brian), Abbie Belles (Joel), Ashlynn Hollingsworth, Matthew Scholes (Heather), Christopher Scholes (Julianne), Anna Whitten (Worth), Jonathan Scholes (Robyn), and 6 great-grandchildren - Caleb Scholes, Andrew Scholes, Halle Scholes, Finn Scholes, Luke Scholes, Eli Scholes, plus 1 more on the way. Primarily living in Germantown and Memphis, each family member, including those that live away, has enjoyed a mutual family bond of love with their beloved Mamama.
Beth was an amazing behind the scenes servant to her church and more. For a period she worked part-time as a bookkeeper and leveraged those skills by holding such roles as treasurer for the Presbyterian Women’s board at her church, Woodland Presbyterian. Similarly she served as treasurer for the church circle and for the Crestwood neighborhood association. She was an avid tennis player and played bridge, often with Bert as her partner, with several groups across the years. She also loved to travel with Bert and shared his love for the outdoors. Beth’s life of family love, giving spirit and faith is already living on in the generations that have succeeded her.
A celebration of life service will be held at Germantown Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 16th at 11:00am with visitation at the same location starting at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be made to Germantown Presbyterian Church or Woodland Presbyterian School.
