Bernadine Harris' Obituary
Bernadine Harris 73, beloved wife of Clifton Harris departed this world on Thursday, September 14, 2023
Bernadine was a native of New Orleans and remained a resident of Memphis Tennessee after Hurricane Katrina. She attended George Washington Carver High School, where she met the love of her life Clifton. They were married on September 20, 1969, and spent 54 years together as husband and wife.
She worked as a credit consultant at Home Depot for many years before retiring. Bernadine cherished being outside, especially on a successful crab hunt. She loved her dog Missy, music, decorating, parades, and New Orleans Saints football. She adored her husband, kids, and grandchildren the most. One of our mother's biggest achievements was returning to school at the age of 51 and receiving her Associate’s degree. It is a great illustration of her character and her conviction that you should constantly try something new. Her family will continue to carry on that spirit. She is preceded in death by her mother Geraldine Louvier and her sister Geraldine Baker.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved Husband Clifton Harris, her children; Michelle Harris of Memphis, Jennifer & Wardell Penn of Virginia, Jerald Harris and Dana Rogers of Memphis, Walter Harris of Memphis; Clifton Harris & Tara Louis of New Orleans, her grandchildren; Gabrielle, Chloe, Janine, Micah, and JoJo.
The family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of Memorial Park Funeral Home..
