Benjamin Walker's Obituary
Benjamin Montgomery Walker, 22, died Thursday night, May 7, 2009 from injuries suffered in an act of thoughtless violence.Ben was preceded in death by the late B. C. Joyner. He is survived by his parents, Beverly J. and Harold M. Walker, Jr., of Memphis; grandparents Frances and Harold B. Walker of Olive Branch, MS and Ethel Joyner of Memphis, and a grieving family of aunts, uncles cousins and friends in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Missouri.Ben is an alumnus of St. Dominic School, attended Christian Brothers High School, and graduated from Fournier School, all in Memphis. He was a gifted and passionate outdoorsman, and channeled his love for the outdoors into his own successful tree and lawn-care service.A visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Riverside Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.Ben’s family extends sympathies to all the families of children taken by violence. They ask that memorial donations be made to the Wolf River Conservancy, Lichterman Nature Center, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
