Beatrice Castle Straughn's Obituary
Beatrice Castle Straughn, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 6, 2014. She was born on August 28, 1922. She attended high school in Belzoni, MS and graduated as class Salutatorian. She retired from Regional One Health (The Med) as a Supervisor of Admissions. She was a faithful member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church and was later a member of Ellendale United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Howard Straughn; daughter, Brenda Rash; sister, Christine Spoto; brothers, E.P. Castle, John Castle, Irby Castle, and Gladney Castle went to be with the Lord before her. She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Lundy (Bill); son-in-law, Mike Rash; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 9 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Burial will immediately follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Ellendale United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
