Beatrice M. Elliott's Obituary
Beatrice M. Elliot, A centenarian and long-time Memphian, Beulah Beatrice “Bea” Elliott passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Born during the 1919 pandemic in Swamp Poodle, AR to William and Francis Moore, she was the eighth of 13 children. Her only surviving sibling is her youngest brother, Col Frank B. Moore, of Memphis. She outlived her other siblings: Jesse L. Agnew, William E. Moore, Laura M. Tamble, Mary M. Moore, Willy B. Moore, Mary E. Moore, William C. Moore, Eulah I. Burns, Hazel L. Oxner, Joe C. Moore, and Thelma F. Parker. Bea married Pvt George “Sam” Elliott of Brickeys, AR in Cape Girardeau, MO on April 2, 1941. Sam served in the Army during WWII in Northern Ireland. They divorced February 20, 1985 and Sam passed away August 2007. Bea was a beautician and owned her own beauty shop for several years before retiring to enjoy her hobbies. She loved fresh-water fishing, bowling at “All Star Lanes”, and gardening in her backyard. Bea’s memorial service will be held Monday, January 18, 2021 at 5:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5568 Poplar Avenue, Memphis TN 38119. She will be cremated and interred at a later date.
