Barry Lynn Matthews' Obituary
Barry Lynn Matthews, affectionately known to many as "Mom Bear" and "Nana" to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by her loved ones at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee.
Born on July 25, 1951, in Oneida, New York, Barry was the daughter of Arthur E. Wickens and Garawayne Cox Wickens.
Barry spent more than 40 years living in Lakeland, Florida, before making her home in Ripley, Tennessee.
She is survived by her son, Richard Lynn Matthews and his wife, Jessie Kirkland, of Ripley, Tennessee; and her daughter, Victory Lynn Malott, of Winter Haven, Florida. She is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren: Matthew T. Malott of Haines City, Florida; Mariah L. Malott of Lake Mary, Florida; and Alexandra L. Matthews of Winter Haven, Florida.
Barry was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur E. Wickens and Garawayne Cox Wickens.
A celebration of Barry's life will be held at a later date in Lakeland, Florida.
