Barbara Robbins' Obituary
Barbara Joan Rafferty Robbins, 81, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017. She was born on December 14, 1935. She was a member of Humes High School’s graduating Class of 1953. She was a Kindergarten teacher before retiring to take care of family and home. She has been a long-time member of Hernando Church of Christ in Hernando, MS. She enjoyed flowers, butterflies, spending time with family and friends, recipes and the act of living. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph J. Rafferty and Audrey Steffan; and her husband of 62 years, Bobby Wayne Robbins. She is survived by her two children, Steve Robbins (Barbara) and Laurie Edwards; four grandchildren, Heather Robbins, Thomas Edwards (Reva), Matt Edwards (Kim) and Jonathan Robbins (Lindsey); five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Nolan and Alivia Edwards, Kylie and Liam. Friends are welcome to join the family in the celebration of Barbara’s life at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis, TN from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 10 with the funeral service to follow immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. All services will be held at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, [email protected] or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Mrs. Barbara Robbins will be missed immensely by all those whose lives she touched. .
